Aunt Sarah's Graduation

This week-end was my little sister Sarah's graduation. She is the baby of the family and so my parents will be empty nesters pretty soon! It's pretty crazy really. It seems like not too long ago that I was where she is now. But really that was 6 years ago. I feel so old when I say that.

Aunt Sarah and Spencer after the long graduation ceremony. Maybe it just seemed long to me because I have a wild baby. And there seemed to be huge amounts of pollen in the air and I have terrible spring allergies. And that it didn't even start until 8:00pm, which is already after Spencer's bedtime. We were still glad we could be there though.

Group shot with eveyone but Bryce...because someone had to take the picture.

Woolaroc and the Kiddie Park

While Jessica, Grace, Breeny, and Jilly were in town we decided to take a trip out to Woolaroc. They have a petting zoo and museum there. It was really crowded because a lot of school kids were there for a field trip, which we did even think about. But it was still pretty fun.

Spencer walking the pony.

They had a little playground and Spencer loved the slide.

Crawling through the teepee.
Then on Saturday the kids got to go to the Kiddie Park! I was working, but Bryce took Spencer and said he had a great time. He loved the all the rides. They rode on a little train that goes around the park. Spencer is really into trains these days so he loved it. Later that night when Bryce was changing Spencer into his pj's he kept making the same noise over and over. After a few minutes Bryce figured out that he was saying "chuga chuga chuga chuga choo choo!"

Riding the boats

I thought this video was pretty hilarious. Sabrina and Spencer love to play together. And actually when Grace and Sabrina first got here Spencer was chasing them around the house and the girls were running away from him screaming. They were all laughing and thought it was so funny. Well, Spencer and Breeny were sitting next to each other on the boats. Spencer would be driving the boat and then lean over to give Breeny kisses. And I love how in the video it looks like Spencer is really talking to Sabrina, even though I am sure she couldn't have understood what he was saying.

Swings. I was a little nervous about Spencer at the kiddie park this time because I thought he might be a little afraid of the rides and try to get out of them while they were going. So I told Bryce to be sure he strapped Spencer in really well. These swings really don't have a strap to hold the kids down but Bryce said Spencer grabbed onto the chains and wouldn't let go.

It has been such a fun week-end and we miss playing with cousins already!

Riding the Horse

These pictures are from a few weeks ago. I've been a little behind on uploading pictures to the computer. Spencer loves going out to Uncle Ryan and Aunt Julie's land to ride the horses and feed the llamas. We have a video of him "feeding" the llama. Really he just grabs some food and throws it. It's pretty funny, but I'm having a little trouble loading it to the blog.

Riding the horse with Uncle Ryan.
It is starting to get pretty warm here in Oklahoma. Actually just the past few days have been really warm and humid! We aren't really looking forward to the humid summer but at least it gives us a good excuse to play in the water.

Trying to drink from the hose.

Splashing in the pool.
A few weeks ago one of our neighbors dogs escaped while she was at work. We found her running around our circle and so got to play with her until our neighbor came home from work and got her. Spencer LOVES dogs. He was laughing like crazy and chasing the dog around. It was pretty cute actually and almost makes me want to think about getting a dog for him to play with. Almost...

Spencer is growing so much. For some reason the other day I couldn't get over how big he looked. He can make lots of animal noises and is starting to say a few words. His favorite right now being "no"! Sometimes he'll start saying "oh no" and will keep saying it over and over and over. He loves watching movies. Especially Toy Story. He can sit and watch the entire thing which is pretty impressive because he never sits still at any other time. :)

Mothers Day

Today I am very grateful for the opportunity I have to be a mother. I am also very grateful for my own mother. And the many other women that have influenced my life. I was watching Elder Neil L. Andersons talk from this past General Conference (which you can read here or watch here) and couldn't help but feel grateful for the example of faith in Jesus Christ from my mom. I also couldn't help but feel an urgency to teach my children about Jesus and to be an example to them by having my own personal faith in Him. I am so grateful that because of Him I can be with my family forever as long as I do my part.

So Happy Mothers Day. To my mom, my mother-in-law, and my grandmothers. I wouldn't have the husband I have without you and I wouldn't be the person I am without you. Thank you for your faith and your examples.

And I of course can't post on our blog without a little bit of Spencer. He really is such a blessing in our lives. I hope I can be grateful every day for the opportunity I have to be with him...even when he tries to bite my legs when I won't pick him up. :)

My favorite is his bird sound.
