Green Nose Baby

Sometimes Spencer gets a little too excited for his baby food and he moves his head forward right into the spoon with food on it. This time it ended up on his nose.

The bridge.

Spencer loves to stand. He stands on walls, his crib, the couches. He likes to spread his arms out too, this picture looks like he's about to be frisked by the police.

So ready to crawl...he just can't figure out how to move his arms with his legs.

Waving goodnight.
Other than taking lots of pictures of mostly just Spencer we haven't been up to much lately. Bryce is studying hard for his certification test that he will take in June and still searching for a job. The weather has been so great so we've been spending a lot of time outside too. We go on walks and runs and sometimes just sit outside in the sun.

Spencer's New Best Friend!

Meet Maddie! We went up to Salt Lake on Saturday to go on a picnic with Chelsea and Matt and found out they had just gotten a puppy! Isn't she cute?

Spencer and Maddie have a kind of love hate relationship. Spencer can't help but reach out to touch her and Maddie loves to come up and lick Spencer's toes...but I think Spencer is slightly afraid of her. Probably because he was sitting on the floor and Maddie came up to him (Spencer's mouth was open, probably in shock because he's never really seen a dog up close) and Maddie came up and started licking Spencer's open mouth!!! Pretty gross, I know but it was also pretty hilarious. Spencer didn't move at all, he just looked at me like what is going on?

Seven!!!

Spencer is now officially seven months old. I think seven is going to be his lucky number. He was born October 7 and weighed 7 lbs 7 oz and yesterday he turned 7 months on May 7!

It is crazy how fast he is growing! Last night I decided to try and put him in some new pajamas that are 9 months size. I was looking at them on the hanger and thought, these are huge! They will probably be so big on him. I decided to put him in them anyway (because all his other ones were dirty) and they fit! They were a little big but not as big as I expected!

In his 9 months pajamas!

Spencer is not only getting bigger but he is also learning a lot of new things. He loves to just sit and play with his toys. He is such a good sitter and hardly ever falls anymore (unless he wants to go after a toy, then he purposely falls down). It was so funny the other day Bryce and I were watching a movie and Spencer was just sitting on the floor playing with his toys. I looked down at him and he was looking behind him at this little piece of paper. And he loves paper! He always wants to play with paper and eat it, probably because any time he gets some I take it right away so he won't eat it. Anyway, so he kept looking behind him at this paper and I could tell he really wanted it but I figured he wouldn't be able to get to it so he'd just keep playing with his toys. So I went back to watching the movie and looked back down a few minutes later and he was on his tummy eating the paper! So apparently if he really wants something he will somehow get to it!

He is also rolling around all over and scooting backwards. He's really started moving around more since we started trying to put him to sleep without being wrapped up. I know! Can you believe we still had to wrap him up at 6 months! I kept picturing him coming to me when he's 2 and being like "Okay mommy I'm ready for bed, wrap me up!" So we decided that even though we would most likely have some bad nights we'd just try it out. He has done pretty good with it too. He can always fall asleep on his own right at bed time. He usually wakes up in the middle of the night slightly hysterical so we eventually wrap him up, but atleast we know that he can fall asleep unwrapped. So since he doesn't spend half of his days with is arms tied down to his sides he has been rolling and scooting around a lot more.

He is just such a great baby and we are so glad we have him. His little smile just makes my day. I'm sure that will come in handy for him when he's older and gets into trouble! He'll just have to smile at me and I won't be able to stay mad. =)

Here is a video of him in his crib. It's so funny because now when he is on his tummy you can see his little head popping up!

Hiking the Y!

It has been beautiful outside the past few days and so we decided to take advantage of the nice weather and hike up to the Y.

Spencer staying hydrated.

On the way up. Spencer mostly squealed and chewed on the straps of his carrier the whole way.

Spencer and mommy at the top! (the very top, not just the bottom top - I wanted to just go to the bottom but Bryce forced us to go up to the top!)
At the rock.
Bryce carried Spencer most of the time, but I did carry him a little on the way down...and here is proof!
Spencer was pretty worn out from all the hiking!
We also decided to go to the park and see what Spencer thought of swings! He loves them!

Graduation!

Bryce is now a college graduate! Graduation was last Thursday and Friday and it was so great to go and see Bryce in his cap and gown. He has worked so hard and is definitely ready to be done with school...at least for a little while. So what is next for us?? Good question. Right now Bryce is looking for a job and then in a year or so, with a little medical experience under his belt, will apply to PA school. So if anyone knows of any openings for an Athletic Trainer let us know! =)

So excited to graduate! (thanks to Sharayne for getting some good pics for us!)

On Saturday we were able to get together with some friends (Bryce's old roommates and wives). Some were in town for graduation and some will be moving soon so it was great to get together with everyone!

Spencer, Devin, and Keegan - these three were born within three weeks of each other! It was so fun to see them together! And although Spencer is the youngest I am pretty sure he is the biggest!

Group picture (Spencer and Keegan were both asleep and so couldn't be in the pic)

Trip to Oklahoma

During Bryce's finals week Spencer, my sister Chelsea, and I took a trip to Oklahoma. We had a lot of fun. And I of course ended up not taking very many pictures but I still got a few good ones. This was Spencer's first plane ride and he did really well on the way out. Coming back didn't go as well but it was definitely much better flying than driving!

Listening to some tunes and playing with toys.

While we were home we got to go to one of Jenny and Sarah's soccer games. I haven't been home to see them play for a few years, so it was fun to get to go to a game. We also got to help them get ready for prom. Actually, I just watched Chelsea do their hair and make-up...I don't think they trusted me to try and help. =)

Sarah and Jenny with their dates. Don't they both look so pretty? My mom sewed the sleeves on both dresses! She is pretty amazing.

It was nice to be home and just hang out. My older sister Jessica lives in Oklahoma too and so we got to spend some time with them also. I wish I had gotten some pictures of Spencer with her kids...

Here is grandma feeding Spencer some ice cream! He really loved it after the initial cold shock.

My little sisters, Jenny specifically, loved putting Spencer's hair in a mohawk.

Aunt Jenny and Spencer after church and right before nap time!
It was a great trip and gave Bryce a lot of time to study and take his finals!

Happy Easter!

Yesterday for Easter we had dinner and an easter egg hunt with Bryce's family. It was actually a year ago on Easter that we told everyone that we were having a baby! And now Spencer is 6 months old...crazy huh? Here is a picture of all the kids after the easter egg hunt.
Avery, Cameron, Alek, Brayden, Kelton, Kylee, Spencer, Kaleb, and Jaxson
During the picture taking Spencer was trying to sneak his hand into Kelton's basket and take some of his candy. (I love how Kelton has chocolate on his face in this picture too, so cute)
Kelton kindly moving Spencer's hand away from his candy.
This is why Spencer never wears shoes. He has little feet anyway, so most of the shoes we have are a little big. And so he will just take them off and start eating them. And I never did get a picture of Spencer in his full easter outfit. He had a little tie to go with his pants and white shirt...and it was so cute! So I will have to put him in it again next Sunday and take pictures then.
I figured I would add this bath tub picture just because it was cute. Now that Spencer is sitting up and not falling over or bending in half he loves to play with the water in the bath tub. He grabs at it and gets confused when he can't hold on to it and bring it to his mouth. Babies are so fun!
