Update on Spencer

And of course I can't ever post anything without adding in a few pictures of Spencer.

I suppose with being mobile and climbing on everything there are going to be lots of falls and a few injuries. Well, this has been Spencer's first big injury (and it probably isn't really that big, it's just seems big to me, ha). So he fell on the wood floor and bit his tongue! Doesn't it look painful? Every time I see it or think about it, it makes my tongue hurt. But Spencer apparently has a pretty high pain tolerance (or I'm just a huge pansy). So he fell and was bleeding a lot. He was pretty upset at first, as you can imagine, but since it happened he hasn't really acted like it bothers him much. He still eats and chews on anything he gets his hands on. He even sticks his tongue out and grabs it with his hand and pulls on it! I make him stop because it's just too much for me. But he's doing pretty good and hopefully it will heal quickly!

Spencer's pool hair do. I think his hair gets blonder everytime he is outside in the sun!

Swimming in the pool! He really did not like this at all, although he is getting more used to and starting to enjoy the pool.

Spencer in his old man pants. Actually, all his pants can do this. Poor kid is definitely going to be short. These are 9 months pants and they are still too long on him!

And in case anyone wonders why Spencer is so spoiled and gets whatever he wants, this is why. Who can say no to this face??

3 Year Anniversary!

Monday was our three year anniversary! We were able to leave Spencer with my parents and go out to dinner together. It was so nice to just sit and enjoy eating and being together. It has really been a great three years. We have been through and learned a lot together and I am a much better person because of my husbands good example and influence. Anyway, it was a great anniversary!

Swing!

It has been quite a while since I have posted new pictures of Spencer! He is 10 months old now and such a happy and fun baby. He is so wiggly and loves to crawl around everywhere. You can hardly keep him in your arms sometimes because he just loves the floor. He is into everything too. He loves to open cupboards and drawers and really only likes to get into the ones that he's not supposed to. He isn't very interested in walking or standing on his own. Anytime we try to stand him up or help him walk he just bends his knees so he can get down and crawl away. He has been sleeping really well lately too. We usually put him to bed around 7 or 7:30 and he will wake up usually once around 11, but then he'll sleep until 6:30 or 7 (sometimes even later!). He also takes two naps, usually about 1 or 2 hours each. He doesn't really like his binky anymore. In fact, usually when I give it to him he knows it means nap time or bed time and so he will just scream and spit it out. So I've learned it's better to just not even give it to him because even when he does take it I find it on the floor in his room later. He loves to splash in the bath tub and drink out of any cup I am drinking out of. It is hard to believe how fast he is growing and that he will be having his first birthday pretty soon!

Grandpa put a baby swing in the backyard and Spencer LOVES it! Anytime he gets fussy I just have to take him out to the swing for a little bit and he's all smiles!

Breeny loves to hold Spencer and give him hugs and kisses. She will be such a good big sister. (and don't you just love Spencer's mohawk?)

Playing the piano. This is something he really enjoys as well, just pounding on the keys.

Trying to escape from his pj's.

And in case anyone wanted to see the cutest little baby bum in the world, here it is! Or half of it anyway. I was putting his diaper on after a bath and tried to just pull it over a little because it was a little crooked and ended up ripping it! He didn't seem to mind to much...
So we are all doing great in Oklahoma. Bryce is really enjoying his job and it looks like they'll be able to start up some Athletic Training at some of the schools around which I think he is looking forward to. Spencer and I are just enjoying our time at home during the day with grandma. Lately we've also been able to spend some time with Aunt Jenny, Aunt Chelsea, and Uncle Matt (who are visiting for a little bit from Utah) and Aunt Jessica, Ben, Grace, and Breeny. I think Spencer has really enjoyed all the attention he gets from everyone! Also, I have decided to make a quiet book for Spencer. I am pretty excited about it right now...we'll see if that lasts when I actually start putting it all together. Hopefully it will help to keep his attention during church! He likes to yell and make lots of noise whenever it's really quiet so I'm thinking a quiet book might help us.

More swimming and bubble bath!

We went to a pool in Tulsa one day right by where my sister used to live. It was so great. It had a shallow pool and slides and lots of other fun things. And Spencer really enjoyed this pool experience.

Crawling in the water.

After swimming for a little while we decided to take a little snack break. Here is Spencer enjoying his Jamba Juice and cracker. The Jamba Juice was mine but I have realized that anything I eat in front of Spencer these days isn't mine for very long.

Spencer and Benson playing in the pool.

Grace and Spencer. We could not get either of them to look at the camera! Spencer was having too much fun splashing in the water apparently.

Sabrina giving Spencer kisses.
One morning while I was giving Spencer a bath Ben, Grace, and Breeny came in and decided they wanted to take a bath too! We were planning on going swimming later that day and so they weren't supposed to get in the bath, but it was just too much fun to pass up. We decided to fill the tub up and make some bubbles.

Bubbles! Spencer had to stay standing up because the water was so high and he would just start drinking the water if he was sitting down.

Not sure what to think of all the bubbles.

Spencer could not stop eating the bubbles! And I love how at the end of this video he's coughing and trying to wipe the taste off his tongue...what a silly kid.

Kiddie park

Last weekend while my sister Jessica and her kids were visiting we decided to go to the Kiddie Park. It's a little amusement park for just kids and had some rides that even Spencer could go on. I wasn't sure how he would like going on rides by himself but he loved it! And it was so hilarious to watch him. I guess other people thought it was pretty funny too because someone took a picture of him when he was riding on the airplane (a little weird too, I know).

Breeny playing with Spencer's hair between rides.

Benson and Spencer riding the carriages. (although their names seem like they are nothing alike I always mix up them up...I feel like saying Benser and Spenson or something)
Spencer riding on the cars. He loved this ride.

Smiling at everyone before riding on the airplanes!
Before the airplane started. He was having fun just sitting on the rides!

We're here!

So we made it to Oklahoma. Actually, we've been here about a week now. We are all settled and still just getting used to the humidity. Bryce is enjoying his job so far. He's working in a PT clinic and will hopefully be starting up some athletic training at some of the smaller high schools around. Spencer has adjusted to a new room and loves all the space to crawl around.

Driving his car.
Playing in the tub! As you can see Spencer really enjoys bath time.

Getting dried off.

Spencer's first pool experiences haven't gone over so well. We went to a big pool the other day and he seemed to just enjoy sitting on the side watching everyone else play in the pool. And today we went and got a little pool for the backyard and he was either screaming or trying to crawl out unless I was in there and he was sitting on my lap. I think he was mostly scared of the hose in the little pool. It kept splashing water on him.

Eating some chili. I decided to give Spencer a few chili beans from some chili we were eating. As you can tell it was very messy. But Spencer loved it!

Fourth of July

After we had packed up all our stuff and loaded it on the truck we drove up to Salt Lake to stay with my sister Chelsea for a few days before leaving for Oklahoma. On the fourth we did a little shopping and then went to Sharayne and Craig's for a barbeque and fireworks with all the family. I was pretty sure Spencer would be a little afraid of the fireworks, atleast the noisy ones, but he loved them. He just sat there staring at them.

Watching fireworks with the cousins.
