More pictures...

Spencer is taking a nap and Bryce is driving back from an interview for PA school in Arizona, so I figured I'd update the blog while I've got a few minutes. So Bryce had an interview today in Arizona. We decided he would just drive down because it would be cheaper...probably a bad idea. So here is what happened. I printed out some maps for him using Streets and Trips. I didn't even look at the directions and wouldn't even have known any better if I had looked over them because I've never even been to Arizona. So Bryce is driving and the directions take him to a dirt road. There was a sign that said "4-wheel drive recommended" but the road looked pretty dry so he figured he would be okay. Well, he ended up getting stuck! There were no cars coming so he figured he would have to walk back to the normal road to try and find some help. So he started walking down the dirt road, thinking he probably wouldn't even make it to the interview when someone drove by in a Jeep. So anyway, he got out and made it to Arizona a lot later than planned, but he still got there. I guess I had it set on shortest distance which ended up being on a dirt road. Whoops! I will never make maps for trips again! We are just glad someone came and helped him out and that he is on his way back now.

Other than that nothing too exciting has been happening. Here are a few new pictures of our Spencer.
Spencer chewing on his toy.
I discovered that Spencer loves to sit like this and watch me fold laundry. He will just sit there the whole time and watch me as long as I keep moving. If I stop for too long he will get upset. It is so perfect because I actually get the laundry folded and I get it done fast because I have to keep moving!
Playing on the floor. I thought this was a good one because he is kind of smiling.

Trying to stuff both of his hands in his mouth! He loves to eat his hands and every once in a while I catch him trying to fit both hands in his little mouth. He has been starting to suck on his thumb too...good or bad? I don't know...probably good because it keeps him happy!

3 Months Old

It has already been 3 months! So here are a few new pictures of our growing baby Spencer. He is starting to love standing and sitting up. And he loves bath time! He splashes himself with water a lot which gets him going splashing his hands and legs even more...it's pretty funny to watch. He is just such a happy baby and are so glad we have him.

Standing up with mommy's help.

Taking a nap with dad. (you can really see Bryce's cleft chin in this picture, so that is at least partially where Spencer got his huge dimple chin)

Chillin out with his binky.

Being dried off after bath time. It's just such a cute picture I had to post it...I figured I would cover his little behind for anyone that might think posting naked baby pictures is inappropriate. So he has a football covering him... =)

And here is a video of Spencer playing on the ground that I took today.

Happy New Year!

We had a wonderful Christmas break! I can hardly believe it is already over but I suppose we are ready to get back into our regular schedule again. Bryce started his last semester at BYU today!

Before Christmas we spent some time with Bryce's family. They always have a few family parties for the holiday and it was nice to be able to see everyone. This year Spencer was baby Jesus in the nativity play.

Here he is in the manger. Although he was a very cute baby Jesus he didn't seem too happy about it...he screamed almost the entire time!

We drove out to Oklahoma this year for Christmas. And what a loooong drive! It was worth it though. We had a lot of fun spending time with my family over the break. All of my siblings were home which was really nice. We played a lot of games, went to the church and played volleyball and slaughterball, played football and soccer, went to Oklahoma City for a few days, watched lots of movies, and just enjoyed each others company.

Spencer in his cute Christmas outfit that Aunt Chelsea bought for him. He looked so handsome! His cousin Benson also had a matching vest but we never got a picture of them together like we wanted...but they were cute.

Christmas Eve in his outfit that Grandma Barbara gave him.

Christmas morning showing off his new presents. A Bumbo and a cute outfit my parents bought for him.

My parents got a wii for Christmas so we had fun bowling and playing tennis and such. Here are Bryce and John bowling.

My mom was playing with Spencer the morning after we got there (mornings are his happiest time of the day) and got him to laugh! Well, he is at least trying to laugh. It is so cute because it sounds like he wants to, but just can't get it to come out right.
So we loved Christmas! It is a little sad that it went by so fast and we are once again in the cold and snow. (It was pretty nice while we were in Oklahoma. I went on a few walks and a bike ride it was so nice!) But we are ready to start the new year...it should be a pretty exciting one!!

Snow Day!

Today was the first real snow storm here! Spencer and I stayed inside most of the day to stay warm. But we did go out to our ward christmas party and so we took a few pictures of Spencer with the snow. He loved being out in the cold as you can tell... (don't worry, we were only out for a few minutes, just enough time to get a few pictures)
We also went up to Temple Square Friday night to see the lights. It was a perfect night to go. It was clear and not too cold.
Spencer all bundled up and ready to go.
In the stroller on the way to Temple Square.
Two handsome boys in the visitors center.

This is a video of Spencer one night before bed.

Just Lately...

Last Thursday was my sister Chelsea's birthday. We decided that for her present we would take her to see the "Forgotten Carols" play. Nikki, my cousin, and Kyle also came with us so we had a triple date! It was really good too. Some might say it is a little cheesy, but I really enjoyed it and that is what makes it good. Plus the music...the music is so good. Chelsea had lost her voice and so could hardly talk but I'm sure if she had her voice she would've been singing along the whole time. =) So we went up early to go out to dinner with her and Matt and then dropped Spencer off at Bryce's grandparents for a few hours and went to the play. It was nice to be able to watch and not have to worry about a crying baby bothering everyone, but I still don't like leaving him for too long. He did great though and was asleep in grandma's arms when we came to get him. Afterwards we had cake and ice cream at Chelsea's apartment. Here is Chels with her cake!

So I know I probably take too many pictures of Spencer and post so many of them that most people are sick of seeing the child so much...but I just can't help it. I just think he is so cute and I like to go to my blog and see new pictures up. I actually probably look at my blog and click on all the pictures more than anyone else. =) Which is a little silly but oh well...it's my first child. So here are some more pictures of Spencer.

This is Spencer's new nap spot. For some reason during the day he doesn't sleep very well in his crib. I will lay him down and five minutes later he's awake. But when I lay him on the couch snuggled in a blanket he sleeps forever. What a silly baby.

Spencer in his cute jacket that we got from Jessica Stevenson and Megan Shaw at a shower that they threw for me and Chelsi over the summer. He just looks so cute in it that I had to post this picture.

We took Spencer in today to get his 2 month shots. (he was 2 months yesterday!) He did pretty well when he got them. They stuck him with the first needle and a few seconds later he realized what happened and got pretty upset. But after about 5 minutes he was fine and was even smiling at us in the lobby while we massaged his little legs. His legs were a little sore tonight (he cried every time you would touch his legs) so we decided to give him a bath. He loves the bath and it really cheered him up. We of course made him decent for the pictures.

This was after Spencer's bath. He was in a really happy mood for a while.

This is also the last week of classes for Bryce. I think he's pretty ready for the semester to be over. Only one more after this and then he'll be done! For a little while anyway...

Decorating the Christmas Tree!

I guess I should talk a little about Thanksgiving first before I post the pictures of our Christmas tree. So, we had a great Thanksgiving. We went to dinner at my grandma's house with Chelsea and Matt and it was amazing! Grandma's are always the best cooks. Later that night we drove to Bryce's grandparents house to see all of his family and watch Christmas Vacation. It is tradition in Bryce's family to watch that movie on Thanksgiving but it was too late by time everyone was ready to watch it, so we watched it at home the next day. So we had a really good Thanksgiving break. It was nice to have Bryce home for a few days...we did a lot of organizing and cleaning which I think he loved! We did watch a lot of football too though, so we were both happy.

Since we are going to Oklahoma for Christmas this year we decided we better get a tree early so we can enjoy it for a few weeks. So we went on Saturday night and picked out a perfect little tree and then decorated it on Sunday.

Spencer helped untangle the lights...

So daddy could put them on the tree!!

He also helped us hang ornaments. He wasn't too excited about this though. I love his face...it is like he's saying "ahh, mom I don't want to hang ornaments!"

Spencer the Christmas tree!

Spencer says Happy Holidays to everyone with a big smile on his face!

I guess I should also mention that Spencer is 8 weeks old today! We went in for his 2 month check up today and found out that he now weighs 11 lbs 14 oz! The nurse looked at him when I took his outfit off and said "wow, he is such a round baby!" Yes, that is our Spencer...round chubby cheek baby! It makes him so cute though, don't you think?

So this past weekend was the big BYU Utah game. Bryce was very excited about it because he was able to get 2nd row tickets! How did he get 2nd row tickets? Well, we made a little deal back in September (since tickets were already going for $200) that if Bryce stopped drinking caffeine until the game and gave plasma to pay for the ticket that he could go. He actually came up with the deal, I just agreed to it. So I made this poster for him...we thought it might help him get on tv.

He did get on tv too, but not because of the poster. It was at the very beginning of the game and was probably because he and Craig were surrounded by red. And even though BYU lost Bryce still had fun at the game and giving plasma for a few months and not drinking Dr. Pepper was worth it.

Here's Bryce and Spencer before he left for the game. Spencer is in his BYU outfit. My little sisters actually got it for him from Gap, but because it is blue and white it is his official BYU outfit.

Me and Spencer before the game.

Spencer is now 7 weeks old today! He is such a good baby too. We had a couple of pretty bad nights last week when he woke up 5 or 6 times. But he was so tired one night and just wouldn't fall asleep so we left him in his crib hoping he would finally just cry himself to sleep. At first I really wanted to go and get him but I had to keep telling myself that he needs to learn to put himself to sleep. After a few minutes he did fall asleep and he has been sleeping great ever since! Last night he actually slept for 7 hours! It was great. He is also smiling a lot more, loves to go on walks and play on the floor, and seems to get bigger everyday!

Here is a picture I took of him this morning. I went in to get him and he was trying to get out of his pajamas! He must've thought it was his blanket and was trying to break free to move his arms. I thought it was kinda funny.

I also thought I would post this video of his little squeal. He is a very wiggly baby and loves to move his arms and kick his legs. It's a little long...I should've stopped it a lot sooner, but here is our baby Spencer.
