5 Months!

Spencer is 5 months old today. And he is getting his first two teeth! I have been thinking for a while that he must be teething but never could feel any teeth coming in. But they are definitely poking out now, so I'm not just crazy.
After eating some delicious rice cereal...he just wanted to save some for later.
Smiling at daddy.
So we still have to bundle Spencer up whenever he goes to sleep. And he has been getting really good at getting his arms out. We came in to get him after a nap and found him trying to escape from his crib! Such a funny baby.
The first video is Spencer attacking his turtle mirror. He is getting so grabby and just looks so funny when he's trying to get something. Usually when I try to video him doing something like this he stops and just looks at me. But this time I snuck up on him! The next video was after we went and got some ice cream at Coldstone with my sister Chelsea and her husband Matt. When we were at Coldstone Bryce had just gotten his ice cream and was holding Spencer. And Spencer was going crazy grabbing for Bryce's ice cream. It was so funny. He was getting pretty hungry and must've thought it was his rice cereal or something. We tried to recreate it when we got home but it wasn't quite the same. He was like 10 times more exctied to grab at Bryce's ice cream than he is in this video, but it's still pretty funny.

Bryce's Golden Birthday!

So today Bryce turned 26 on the 26th! He is really getting up there. Before you know it he will be 30! We had a pretty good day though. We went to his favorite place Ruby River Steakhouse and I made him an apple pie! (it is his favorite and he prefers this to having cake) Here are a few pictures of Bryce and his "cake". I kept trying to get Spencer to look at me and smile but he was just really into the candles.

Annnnd, I finally got a video of Spencer rolling over! I was changing his diaper and putting his pajamas on and he was just having so much fun being in just his diaper. So I put him in his crib and let him play. He was grabbing his feet and moving around and just looked so cute!

Such a cute little naked baby!

Here are some new pictures of Spencer. I just take so many pictures and videos of him that I figure I should share them...I'm sure it's a little much but he's so cute! It is so fun to watch him grow and learn to do new things. He is rolling over these days but of course every time I pull the camera out to get a video of it he just buries his face in the ground and screams. Such a silly baby. We also have started giving him some rice cereal. And he loves it! He attacks the spoon and holds onto my hand making it difficult to get more cereal on the spoon.

Spencer ready to try some rice cereal. I love this bib because it is so true. Bryce is such a messy eater and from the looks of it Spencer will be just like his daddy.

Playing on his tummy.

Big smile! He is usually pretty smiley after waking up from a good nap.

He really loves to grab and hold onto things these days. He always takes his binky out of his mouth and just holds onto it. We have actually lost his binky a few times and found it under the car or somewhere between the car and our apartment because he will pull it out of his mouth and drop it. He also loves to have his hands massaged. Anytime he is getting cranky I will rub his little hands and he will usually calm down. It is kinda funny.

Watching mom fold laundry.

And here is a video of Spencer attacking a turtle and duck. I was fixing some lunch and kept looking over at him doing this, so I of course ran and got the camera. I take so many videos...it is kind of ridiculous. And it is always so hard to choose which to put on...but I think this was the best from the past week. :)

We are starting to go on more walks outside these days because it has been a little nicer. But we are definitely ready for warmer weather so we can go outside even more. We were also able to spend some time with my cousin Kara and her husband and my Aunt Julie and Uncle Ryan this weekend. It was fun to see them and were glad we could spend some time with them while they were here.

4 months old! (tomorrow)

Well, here are some more pictures of Spencer. That's basically all our blog is now! He will be four months tomorrow. It is crazy how much he has grown. I was watching videos of him when he was four weeks and he seemed so small! But it is so fun to see him grow and do new things.

Playing on the floor

I know this picture is a little sad...but so funny at the same time. So Spencer always spits up when he plays on his tummy. And a lot of times when he gets tired of being on his tummy he just buries his face into the floor and screams. So today he did both...spit up a lot and then put his face into his spit up! I decided to take a picture real fast before wiping it all off so I could show Bryce...and now I'm sharing with everyone.

Ready to go to church

I was blow drying my hair while Spencer and Bryce were watching some basketball. Bryce propped Spencer up on the couch like this and he was just sitting there watching me do my hair. I couldn't get a picture that really captured how cute he looked...I took like 20. But it was so funny and cute. I just love my baby!

Sticking his tongue out while getting dried off. My guess is he was trying to lick up the water that got stuck in his dimple chin during his bath!

And here are a couple videos put into one that I have taken lately. The first is an example of what Spencer does to get attention. He will just yell and yell until you come pick him up or entertain him somehow. I think he is ready to be mobile...or I think I am ready for him to be mobile so he can entertain himself a little more (although when he actually is I'm sure I will wish he wasn't). The next video I just thought he looked cute...and the last one is him smiling and playing in a toy some friends in our ward let us borrow.

So that is the update on Spencer. He has his 4 month appointment on Monday! And we are just staying busy with the baby, school, church, and everything else!

More pictures...

Spencer is taking a nap and Bryce is driving back from an interview for PA school in Arizona, so I figured I'd update the blog while I've got a few minutes. So Bryce had an interview today in Arizona. We decided he would just drive down because it would be cheaper...probably a bad idea. So here is what happened. I printed out some maps for him using Streets and Trips. I didn't even look at the directions and wouldn't even have known any better if I had looked over them because I've never even been to Arizona. So Bryce is driving and the directions take him to a dirt road. There was a sign that said "4-wheel drive recommended" but the road looked pretty dry so he figured he would be okay. Well, he ended up getting stuck! There were no cars coming so he figured he would have to walk back to the normal road to try and find some help. So he started walking down the dirt road, thinking he probably wouldn't even make it to the interview when someone drove by in a Jeep. So anyway, he got out and made it to Arizona a lot later than planned, but he still got there. I guess I had it set on shortest distance which ended up being on a dirt road. Whoops! I will never make maps for trips again! We are just glad someone came and helped him out and that he is on his way back now.

Other than that nothing too exciting has been happening. Here are a few new pictures of our Spencer.
Spencer chewing on his toy.
I discovered that Spencer loves to sit like this and watch me fold laundry. He will just sit there the whole time and watch me as long as I keep moving. If I stop for too long he will get upset. It is so perfect because I actually get the laundry folded and I get it done fast because I have to keep moving!
Playing on the floor. I thought this was a good one because he is kind of smiling.

Trying to stuff both of his hands in his mouth! He loves to eat his hands and every once in a while I catch him trying to fit both hands in his little mouth. He has been starting to suck on his thumb too...good or bad? I don't know...probably good because it keeps him happy!

3 Months Old

It has already been 3 months! So here are a few new pictures of our growing baby Spencer. He is starting to love standing and sitting up. And he loves bath time! He splashes himself with water a lot which gets him going splashing his hands and legs even more...it's pretty funny to watch. He is just such a happy baby and are so glad we have him.

Standing up with mommy's help.

Taking a nap with dad. (you can really see Bryce's cleft chin in this picture, so that is at least partially where Spencer got his huge dimple chin)

Chillin out with his binky.

Being dried off after bath time. It's just such a cute picture I had to post it...I figured I would cover his little behind for anyone that might think posting naked baby pictures is inappropriate. So he has a football covering him... =)

And here is a video of Spencer playing on the ground that I took today.

Happy New Year!

We had a wonderful Christmas break! I can hardly believe it is already over but I suppose we are ready to get back into our regular schedule again. Bryce started his last semester at BYU today!

Before Christmas we spent some time with Bryce's family. They always have a few family parties for the holiday and it was nice to be able to see everyone. This year Spencer was baby Jesus in the nativity play.

Here he is in the manger. Although he was a very cute baby Jesus he didn't seem too happy about it...he screamed almost the entire time!

We drove out to Oklahoma this year for Christmas. And what a loooong drive! It was worth it though. We had a lot of fun spending time with my family over the break. All of my siblings were home which was really nice. We played a lot of games, went to the church and played volleyball and slaughterball, played football and soccer, went to Oklahoma City for a few days, watched lots of movies, and just enjoyed each others company.

Spencer in his cute Christmas outfit that Aunt Chelsea bought for him. He looked so handsome! His cousin Benson also had a matching vest but we never got a picture of them together like we wanted...but they were cute.

Christmas Eve in his outfit that Grandma Barbara gave him.

Christmas morning showing off his new presents. A Bumbo and a cute outfit my parents bought for him.

My parents got a wii for Christmas so we had fun bowling and playing tennis and such. Here are Bryce and John bowling.

My mom was playing with Spencer the morning after we got there (mornings are his happiest time of the day) and got him to laugh! Well, he is at least trying to laugh. It is so cute because it sounds like he wants to, but just can't get it to come out right.
So we loved Christmas! It is a little sad that it went by so fast and we are once again in the cold and snow. (It was pretty nice while we were in Oklahoma. I went on a few walks and a bike ride it was so nice!) But we are ready to start the new year...it should be a pretty exciting one!!
